Many of us who have knowledge of networking is well aware of MAC address. For those who don’t know here is detailed information about MAC.
MAC- Media Access code is unique code assigned to every lan card. As we all know there is IMIE no which is unique identification code assigned to mobiles. Similar way MAC is unique code assigned to every lan card irrespective of lan card manufacturing company. Mac address also known as physical address.MAC address will look like 00-22-68-AA-5A-5E.
Now next question will be how to check MAC address for lan card.
1. Go to command prompt
2. Type command ipconfig/all
3. Check for physical address

MAC address filter can be used to restrict access to network pc as this is unique for every lan card. Still APR poisoning is trick using which MAC address can be forged.
